A Day in the Life of the Carrier Sales Engineer: Lead pre-sale discovery sessions with customer both in person and remotely, capturing customers requirements and aligning to internal products. Builds relationships with customers serving as the technical liaison from pre-sales to post sales Participate in strategic and tactical account planning sessions Provides technical training and development to support the Account teams Create and maintain internal and external design documents in Visio and KMZ formats. Articulate complex technical design requirements into information that customers can understand Work closely with Commercial Product team to facilitate awareness of product gaps and reduce the need for ICBs. Coordinate with engineering and operational teams to facilitate development and implementation operational strategies that support continued efficiency and national standardization Participate in customer kick-off calls and work closely with project management teams to successfully monitor progress and ensure a positive customer experience Demonstrate industry insights through trade show attendance, self-study industry technology trends and formal vendor and internal training Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness Coordinate cross-market and corporate engineering teams to support regional/national intermarket opportunities Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights, weekends, and variable schedule(s) as necessary to deliver complex projects. Manage Vendor relationships to ensure equipment capabilities and configurations as well as cost modeling. Deliver complete solutions utilizing the company's application systems, components, and infrastructure. Create and present engaging content to customers and internal partners Other duties as assigned What You Bring to the Table: 7+ years' experience in Sales Engineering, Network Engineering, Commercial Network or Operations role. Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA/ENT and/or MEF-CECP 2.0 (preferred) Layer 1 (Fiber, HFC, DWDM, CWDM) Layer 2 & 3 (Switching, STP, VLAN, MPLS, Carrier Ethernet) Experience with video standards such as NTSC, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, HEVC, AVC, J2K Familiarity with Video transport technologies: SRT, ARQ, uncompressed, low latency Knowledge of telecommunications transport and compression mediums including IP, RF, ASI, SDI Strong ability to articulate Network technologies specific to MEF standards and Wavelengths Strong design creation skills utilizing Microsoft Visio and KMZ fiber mapping within Google Earth. Excellent communication and presentation skills Proven track record of building, executing technical solutions and sales strategies to penetrate, close, and manage Carrier accounts General knowledge of commercial voice solutions Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Effective problem-solving abilities and a keen attention to detail.
