Job Title: MP&P Engineer 2 Duration: 12 Months Location: Seattle, WA Shift Timings: 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM (On Call) On call details: * Candidate will receive a Schedule for the next week. This could vary from week to week. * Generally, will be Monday - Thursday * Hours would remain consistent, days could vary. * The manager is flexible on the days worked and their start time. Position Responsibilities: Assists with the definition of requirements for materials, parts, and processes used in the manufacture of products. Draft specifications and other documents to manage the deployment of materials, parts, and processes. Assists in the evaluation of emerging technologies for potential application to business needs. Assists with development and qualification of new materials, parts, and processes to meet requirements. Performs routine tests and audits to qualify suppliers for applicable requirements. Conducts routine analysis to determine reasons for failures of materials, parts, or processes. Assists in implementing corrective and preventive actions. Develops computer and production systems to satisfy user requirements. Works under general supervision. Evaluates parts, materials, processes, technology, or equipment through research and testing to ensure safety, reliability, and adherence to requirements and specifications. Analyzes failed parts and processes to reduce or eliminate future failures. Generates test plans, catalogs test data, identifies and categorizes failures, determines root cause, and documents results and recommendations as well as operating procedures. Proposes develops, and validates revisions to procedures and specifications. Determines suitability of parts, materials, and processes and coordinates resolution of issues with suppliers and customers. Supports continuous improvement of products and processes by designing, developing, fabricating, testing, evaluating, and implementing new concepts and technology. Provides knowledge and technical consultation to internal and external customers. Performs Paints and Sealants testing to analyze and develop materials with improved characteristics and properties for future and sustaining program efforts. Generates testing coupons, operates test equipment, conducts test activities, monitors test procedures, author test reports, and maintains compliance with laboratory safety practices. What are the Top 3-5 Skills REQUIRED to perform this role/job: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or Chemistry. 1 year of experience working in a laboratory environment. 1 year experience creating test plans, executing experiments, and collecting data. Tolerance of working with and around chemicals (e.g. paints and sealants). Organizational skills to handle multiple program and work requests from start to finish. Strong ability to perform work independently as well as work well with others. High attention to detail, self-starter, and results-driven. Excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills, and ability to perform effectively in a team environment. Experience with MS Office Suite, such as Word and Excel. Strong technical writing skills with the ability to clearly communicate complex procedures, results, and technical conclusions.
