Eaton Corporation Legal Counsel in Selangor, Malaysia

What you’ll do:

This role is responsible for providing legal and commercial support for assigned businesses and functions within the East Asia division. We are looking for a legal and commercial expert to ensure legal risks are managed and mitigated as appropriate with the best commercial outcome achieved for Eaton and our customers.

"A. Legal compliance and risk management - assessing legal risks relating to operations and strategic decisions.

B. Development of effective compliance risk mitigation strategies, such as processes and controls to eliminate or mitigate identified compliance risks.

C. Provide legal support and represent in commercial, legal and regulatory matters involving government agencies for all legal entities.

D. Provide transactional, operational and contract support for assigned Eaton businesses and functions (HR, Sales, Supply Chain Management, Finance etc).

E. Provide advice and counsel regarding good corporate governance and compliance with our Code of Ethics.

F. Manage and resolution of litigation, labour, and other disputes.

G. To be committed & responsible for Quality Management System:

a. Implement the process approach and risk-based thinking

b. Provide the necessary support to fully implement and sustain the QMS

c. Communicating to the organization the importance of conforming to QMS requirements

d. Ensuring the QMS meets its goals

e. Engage, direct, and support individuals contributing to the QMS

f. Create a culture of continuous improvement"

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree, major in Law

At least 7 years of experience ideally with a multinational company in either Utilities, Industrial, Mining or FMCG within the APAC region.

Skills:

Experience in a major law firm is also highly regarded.

Knowledge of, or an ability quickly to learn, legal issues associated with anti-corruption/FCPA and government relations.

Familiarity and experience in these matters in other APAC countries would be ideal."
