Emerson Total Rewards Director – Asia Pacific in Shanghai, China
Job Summary:

The Total Rewards Director – APAC Region will be responsible for designing, planning, implementing and leading Emerson’s Total Rewards strategy across APAC countries. This exciting role requires a deep understanding of regional and country-specific compensation practices, ensuring compliance with global governance and local requirements, and facilitating the timely execution of global & regional compensation programs, including short-term and long-term incentive plans.
You will collaborate with our APAC senior leadership and the Total Rewards Global COE to establish strategy, as well as work closely with the country and business unit HR teams for execution. Your expertise will guide benchmarking, optimize annual total rewards processes, and continuously improve our regional rewards approach to attract, retain, engage and motivate employees.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Serve as the regional leader for Asia Pacific to provide strategic direction and drive alignment of the organization’s total rewards programs and strategies with Emerson’s global total rewards philosophy and people strategy.
Collaborate with senior leaders, HR teams, and other collaborators to grasp business requirements and incorporate these insights into total rewards strategies.
Provide regional and local expertise in partnership with country HR teams and the Global Total Rewards team.
Collaborate with global compensation teams to ensure regional and country-specific compensation strategies align with overall company objectives.
Act as the expert on compensation trends, regulations, and standard methodologies. Stay up to date on market trends, standard methodologies, and regulatory changes for rewards programs to align with local laws and standards.
Support the country teams in analyzing, formulating, planning, and implementing total rewards initiatives that include compensation, benefits, retirement, recognition and other incentive programs. This includes developing communication strategies to ensure employees understand and appreciate the programs offered.
Identify and address any compliance issues, working closely with legal and HR teams.
Coordinate the rollout of compensation and benefit programs within the region, ensuring timely and effective implementation.
Collaborate with APAC region COEs like the Talent Acquisition and HRIS teams to improve the design and continuous improvement of workflows, processes, and technology to increase efficiency.

For This Role, You Will Need:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience needed. Knowledge in APAC compensation and benefits design, including but not limited to broad-based compensation, incentive program design and implementations, and annual merit reviews.
Experience in compensation and benefits leadership and implementation, with a focus on regional and global program collaboration.
Strong knowledge of APAC compensation regulations and practices while being open to new ideas and feedback, valuing diverse perspectives to achieve the best outcomes.
Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in complex data analysis & interpretation.
Excellent English communication ability, and interpersonal skills, with the capability to drive business conversations and influence execution. Ability to communicate effectively and influence senior leadership partners. Able to present findings in a concise manner and communicate complex information to diverse audiences.
Proven track record in a leadership role in developing and managing rewards strategies and programs in a multi-national organization.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to lead projects and manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Ability to work effectively in a global, matrixed organization.
Ability to demonstrate competence in handling financial matters and showcasing business insights in the approach to incentive programs.
Ability to travel occasionally to various regions and APAC countries.

Master’s degree or equivalent experience or professional certification
Experience with compensation software and tools.
