Position Summary

The position Sales Operations and M&D Manager should strive to deliver improvements in increasing sales force productivity and efficiency by strengthening sales processes and through the implementation and execution of brand strategy and provide thought leadership in the development, implementation and evaluation of merchandising activities to improve sales presence and performance. The Sales Operations and M&D Manager position reports to the Senior, Sales Operations and M&D Manager. As a member of the larger Customer Engagement & Operations team, this role will play a critical role in improving the way EPC shows up to the Customer & Consumer.

Universal Accountabilities

  1. Assist in development and implementation improvements for sales processes that increase sales force productivity: Processes such as Annual Business Plans, New Product Launches, Competitive Monitoring, Sales Execution and others as necessary. Ensure assigned processes are communicated, understood, and followed across the organization to drive success. Suggest modification processes as necessary.

  2. Manage the sales communication process, including field sales enabling technologies and sales business intelligence / reporting: Manage the communication process to drive agility and clarity in communications and decision-making between Marketing and Sales teams, provide recommendations to simplify and streamline the process to create better, faster decision-making.

  3. Drive implementation and execution plan of brand strategies. This includes but is not limited to spearheading the needs and coordination of the annual planning meeting materials and working closely with brand on the development of brand strategies to ensure market success.

  4. Lead Pricing strategy implementation and execution in market. Working with brand marketing, play an active role in creation of pricing strategy and generate implementation and execution plan along with in market compliance and reporting. Specific work includes third party reporting and IRI analytics reporting to the broader Sales and BU teams.

  5. Lead coordination of execution across Commercial partners during times of Product change or Inventory challenges. Product changes include graphic changes, product or case pack changes, discontinuations etc. Manage communication to the field and actively participate with teammates on the implementation of product changes. Lead customer allocation needs and splits for pipe, replenishment and promotional support.

  6. Manage all promotional and secondary packaging programs and activities (special packs, displays, racks & POP) including, but not limited to a) Participate in all required planning and reporting to develop and align on the Display (National & Account Specific) each year. b) Lead weekly co-packer Project Review Meeting. Ensure all special packs and displays are legally approved and meet or exceed all internal quality standards. Support the process of evaluating and approving opportunities during the year c) serve as expert for inline merchandising solutions to drive category / brand share gains.

  7. Own Cost Management and Budget Tracking . Proactively identify opportunities to reduce display costs and increase display effectiveness. Create budget rigor by leading monthly budget meetings with finance and brand partners to provide budget reporting/reconciliation.

  8. Leverage retail/competitive insights/industry trends to support recommendations and to drive out of the box solutions. Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of retail merchandising trends and share this knowledge and strategic implications across the organization; perform regular retail visits as needed.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 4-year college degree

  • Minimum 3 years direct sales, sales operations or marketing experience

  • Solid analytical skills

  • Strong project management, planning and organizational skills

  • Self-motivated and able to independently structure and lead complex analyses

  • Working knowledge of syndicated data (Nielsen/IRI, Spectra, Panel)

  • Strong oral, written and presentation skills

Working Relationships

  • Reports to Senior Sales Operations and M&D Manager

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills

Work Environment

  • Hybrid

The salary range for this position is $104,000 - $156,000. The actual base salary offered to a candidate may vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance.
