Part-Time Registered Dietitian. Wednesdays 1 day per week. The primary responsibility of this position is to counsel individuals and groups on nutritional practices designed to prevent and manage disease and promote good health. Individual must be able to collaborate with the healthcare teams in the treatment of individuals and groups. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Document patient encounters in electronic health record. Counsel individuals and groups on basic guidelines of good nutrition, healthy eating, habits, and nutrition monitoring to improve their quality of life. Develop curriculum and prepare manuals, visual aids, course outlines, and other materials used in teaching, as needed. Maintain strict confidentiality according to HIPAA standards and upholds confidentiality working with sensitive patient data. Special Diabetes Program for Indians (SDPI) 1. The RDN, Diabetes Educator will provide Diabetes Self-Management Training DSMT) or equivalent education to patients, their family, and or support person. Education programs will be developed and provided. 2. Attend trainings and updates pertaining to changes in (SDPI) grant. 3. Collaborate with the Diabetes Program Coordinator in planning and conducting educational events for the community. 4. Collect and track data in accordance with the requirements of the SDPI grant. 5. Provide instruction to diabetes program participant. 6. Maintain CEU's as required. (BLS & CPR) 7. Must have or be able to obtain a ND license. 8. Valid Driver's License. 9. Mandatory and random drug testing required. 10. Background check. QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: Prior chronic disease and/or maternity nutrition counseling helpful. Education: Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or related field required. Must have R.D. certification. Other skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Basic computer skills required.
