Job Summary:

Reporting to the HR Leader for Thermo King EMEA , the HQ HR Manager & HRBP will own and drive employee life-cycle processes for our Headquarters in Belgium. The HQ HR manager & HRBP role is a combination of tactical and strategic responsibilities that aim to improve employee experience and help business achieve their strategic objectives. They will also support as Human Resources Business Partner EMEA Business leaders for the EMEA Thermo King unit.

Overall, this role will be responsible for providing guidance for the client groups in the following areas: HR policies, talent management, talent acquisition, employee relations, employee engagement, change management, compensation planning, M&A and other.

Responsibilities:

Partner with Local Leaders:

  • Collaborate closely with local leaders at HQ to ensure adherence to local policies and procedures.

  • Provide strategic HR guidance and support to leadership teams to drive business objectives.

Trusted HR Business Partner:

  • Serve as a trusted HR business partner to Thermo King Leader for product management, digital and aftermarket, helping them to translate business strategies into actionable HR goals and initiatives.

  • Provide insights and recommendations to drive organizational performance and team effectiveness

  • Lead change management efforts with the specified teams.

Drive Effective Internal Communications:

  • Develop and implement internal communication strategies that enhance employee engagement and foster a positive workplace culture.

  • Ensure timely, transparent, and effective communication with all stakeholders.

Ensure Compliance with Local Legislation:

  • Translate local legislation into actionable plans and ensure compliance at HQ.

  • Own and administer all aspects of the various HR policies (including car fleet policy) and ensure compliance to all statutory regulations.

Lead Process Improvement Initiatives:

  • Identify opportunities for HR process improvement and simplification.

  • Implement best practices to enhance HR efficienc

  • Promote Service now and the usage of self-service HR systems

Manage the Employee Lifecycle:

  • Oversee the entire employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, and performance management.

  • Ensure a positive and seamless employee experience throughout their tenure.

Oversee Payroll and Local Administration:

  • Manage payroll processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with local regulations.

  • Handle local HR administration tasks, including benefits administration and employee records management.

  • Payroll administration includes a small operation in Luxembourg and Denmark (less than 10 employees respectively)

Manage External Vendor Relationships:

  • Manage relationships with external HR vendors and service providers.

  • Ensure vendor performance meets company standards and requirements.

Support M&A Efforts:

  • Assist in local M&A activities, including due diligence, integration planning, and execution

  • Provide HR expertise to ensure smooth transitions during mergers and acquisitions.

Qualifications:

  • 7 to 10 years of experience within similar role, both hands on operational HR and more strategic business partnering with international/European experience, preferably in a US headquartered company in an industrial and/or services organization

  • Proven track record of managing internal and external stakeholders

  • Project management experience

  • Process driven, with strong understanding of HR processes, policies and systems (PeopleSoft/SAP, etc.)

  • Experience with administering HR systems, PeopleSoft and Taleo preferred

  • HR policy and program administration experience

  • English & Dutch are required, French is a plus
