Washington State Job Bank CSV Pools Maintenance Technician Spokane, Washington
POSITION SUMMARY: This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The CSV Maintenance Technician ensures that the City of Spokane Valley Managed Pools are maintained to the highest standard, that all systems are operated as efficiently as possible, and that there are minimal disruptions to pool usage and programs. The CSV Maintenance Technician adheres to all maintenance policies and procedures to maintain a safe Aquatics recreational environment and strengthen community.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Inspect the fire extinguishers and emergency lighting systems ensuring all systems are functioning properly in accordance with applicable codes.
- Assists in seasonal opening and closing of outdoor pools and property.
- Maintain and repair general lighting in parking lot and facility including underwater pool lights.
- Test pool chemistry and water quality, adjusting as required.
- Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies needed for maintenance tasks.
- Operate and maintain all aquatic, mechanical equipment, and landscape maintenance operations.
- Maintain the security of property to ensure a safe atmosphere for staff and members and reduce property damage to the pool area.
- Reports maintenance and safety issues to the CSV Maintenance Lead promptly and provides recommendations for repair.
- Assist the CSV Maintenance Lead/Association Facilities Director in the coordination of outside contractors and vendors.
- Maintain accurate records and upkeep of work orders using Asset Essentials management system.
- Follows all safety, emergency, and child abuse prevention policies, procedures, and standards established by the law, state licensing and the Y. Reports and maintain proper documentation of incidents/accidents as they occur.
* QUALIFICATIONS:*
- At least one year's experience preferred in a like facility, commercial building, or building maintenance.
- Good mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn. On the job training is available.
- Familiar with all job safety requirements such as PPE and Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO).
- Possess a valid driver's license and meet all requirements of the YMCA Driver Policy.
- Familiarity with pool chemistry preferred but not required.
- Ability to perform basic plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and time-management skills.
- Completes all YMCA required training upon hire
- Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds
*STARTING PAY: *$21.50/hr
