Job Summary:

The incumbent of this position is responsible for providing day-to-day services under the Psychosocial Rehabilitation Specialist (PSR) program, in accordance with State Regulatory directives, to clients with severe and persistent mental illness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Make an ongoing assessment of the status of all clients on his/her caseload including personal strengths, progress, problems and needs.

  • Routinely provide services within the PSR Program and other community settings unless otherwise specified by the treatment plan.

  • Participate in the ongoing process of monitoring client participation and progress in organized treatment programs to assure planned provision of service.

  • Intercede on behalf of individual clients within the community at large to assist the client in achieving and maintaining their community adjustment.

  • Assist in the preparation and leadership of social, educational, and life skills activities.

  • Assist in the maintenance of PSR supplies, furnishings and room.

  • Plan, prepare and lead diverse daily activities.

  • Transport clients as needed.

  • Interact with clients in order to help build relationships conducive to learning

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 23 years of age

  • High School diploma or GED

  • Must have a valid Class E driver’s license or be able to obtain one within 2 weeks of employment + proof of auto insurance & favorable recent driving record.

  • Experience planning recreational or social activities.

  • Experience in the Human Services field is preferred but not required

  • Prior certification in First Aid and CPR is preferred but training can be provided prior to the start date.
