Position Description:
SCTCC is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join our HVAC program as a full-time faculty member to join our team starting in the Fall of 2025 (August 20, 2025). The successful candidate will teach courses in residential and/or commercial HVAC systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.
This role offers the opportunity to educate and mentor students pursuing careers in the HVAC industry, preparing them to meet the demands of the workforce and succeed in a dynamic and growing field.

Key Responsibilities:
Teach a range of HVAC courses, both in lecture and hands-on lab settings, focusing on installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems.
Develop and update curriculum to align with industry standards and technological advancements.
Advise and mentor students to support their academic and career goals.
Collaborate with industry partners to ensure program relevance and provide students with work-based learning opportunities.
Participate in departmental meetings, professional development, and college-wide activities.
Maintain student records and assess student learning outcomes.
Collaborate with faculty and staff to enhance program offerings and student learning outcomes.
Assist in curriculum development and program assessment to align with industry trends.
Participate in college-wide activities, department meetings, and professional development opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications
Must meet minimum qualifications for faculty credentialing in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (Field #500122) . Please refer to the MN State Credentialing Website at:

Education Requirement
- Diploma or the completion of an apprenticeship in heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration installation and repair.
Occupational Experience Requirement
- Four full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in residential or commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration installation and repair.
Recency Requirement
- One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
Preferred Qualifications
Teaching experience at the postsecondary level, preferably at a two-year college
Prior on-line experience using D2L Brightspace platform or equivalent information management system
Demonstrated commitment to quality instruction and continuous improvement
Ability to work with a diverse student body with a broad range of interests and abilities
Ability to communicate effectively with students and peers
Experience in curriculum development at the professional nursing level
Effective planning, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Other Requirements

Initial Salary Placement Range: $44,143 - $73,690
