Cedar Hill Lodge Hospitality Inc Front Desk in St Ignace, Michigan
Cedar Hill Lodge Hospitality, Inc is seeking five (5) Front Desk Staff to work on their property at 680 W HWY U.S Route 2, St. Ignace MI 49781. The position will be full-time and seasonal during the dates of April 1, 2025 - October 31, 2025.
This role of Front Desk personnel is to registering and assigning rooms to guests, issuing room key or cards, transmitting and receiving messages, keeping records of occupied rooms and guests accounts, making and confirming reservations, and presenting statements to and collecting payments from departing guest; Greet, register, and assign rooms to guests of hotels or motels; Verify customers' credit, and establish how the customer will pay for the accommodation; Contact housekeeping or maintenance staff when guests report problems; Make and confirm reservations; Issue room keys and escort instructions to bellhops; Keep records of room availability and guests' accounts, manually or using computers; Perform bookkeeping activities, such as balancing accounts and conducting nightly audits; Post charges, such as those for rooms, food, liquor, or telephone calls, to ledgers, manually or by using computers; Compute bills, collect payments, and make change for guests; Record guest comments or complaints, referring customers to managers as necessary; Arrange tours, taxis, or other reservations for customers; Review accounts and charges with guests during the checkout process; Advise housekeeping staff when rooms have been vacated and are ready for cleaning; Answer inquiries pertaining to hotel services, guest registration, and travel directions, or make recommendations regarding shopping, dining, or entertainment; Clean and maintain lobby and common areas, such as restocking supplies and watering plants; Prepare for basic food service, such as setting up continental breakfast or coffee and tea supplies; date-stamp, sort and rack incoming mail and messages. Front Desk Agents may be required to upsell guest rooms and promote hotel services. Hotel experience is preferred. Should be able to stand and move for long periods of time. Must be able to speak and understand clear English, handle adversity with ease and diffuse issues that may arise with professionalism.
Employees will work Mon-Sun average of 35 hrs./wk. Must be able to work up to 7 hrs. per shift within the hours of 7am to 11pm any day of the week, days off rotate, shifts vary. This job requires continuous movement, regularly bending, lifting, pushing. Must be flexible, be a team player. Weekends, nights and holidays are required. No minimum education is required to perform the job. No experience in Front Desk is required.
On-the-job training is provided. Cedar Hill Lodge Hospitality, Inc will provide workers with all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job at no charge. Employers do not provide transportation to and from work location during the term of employment.
The wage is $14.99 per hour, and no overtime is available. All deductions will be made from paychecks that are required by law. No other deductions will be taken unless voluntarily agreed upon. Wages will be paid bi-weekly, and the employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due.

The employer will reimburse the H-2B worker in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government, (excluding passport fees) incurred by the H-2B worker. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally
