The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Data Analytics Software Engineering Manager to join the Next Generation Product Support team located in preferred locations: Hazelwood, MO, Oklahoma City, OK, Plano, TX. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Global Services (BGS) business organization.

The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Data Analytics Software Engineering Manager to join the Next Generation Product Support organization, which develops a diverse suite of digital and data analytics capabilities and supports investments in defense platform capabilities for product support across a wide portfolio of US and non-US customers.

This position will lead a team of Data and Cloud Architect Developers and Software Engineers building a cloud-based platform hosting a suite of product support modernization solutions. The software engineers on this team use a variety of languages including Python, C++, Java and variety of web development and data science technologies including Angular, SQL, OpenShift, Apache Spark, and other. The software is developed using an Agile methodology with modern CI/CD practices.

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options or within Boeing site presence. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Software Engineering

  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals

  • Provide guidance and direction to ensure Software Engineering Design Practices are understood and implemented

  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements

  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports

  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes

  • Leads activities to define requirements, design and verify robust data and cloud architecture for the data and analytics capabilities supporting multiple platforms

  • Assist in Risk, Issue, & Opportunity management

  • Manages, develops and motivates employees

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. Ability to obtain Secret US Security clearance Post-Start.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • 3+ years of experience leading or managing software engineering activities

  • Experience with software architecture and software implementation

  • Experience managing schedule, budget, and staffing to support program execution

  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • A strong, influential leadership style that moves people to act, motivates and inspires excellence and innovation

  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM)

  • Experience with mentoring, coaching, and growing software engineering teams

  • Experience leading software development for web application architecture

  • Experience working with Cloud native development including running applications in AWS, Azure, or GCP

  • Experience with application integration in a microservices architecture

  • Experience with the configuration of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) for data ingestion

  • Experience developing software in the aircraft product services and product support domain to include Maintenance, Repair, & Overhaul support and Performance Based Logistics

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to obtain Secret Clearance

Travel:

Will require travel to multiple Boeing locations up to 25% of the time both domestically and internationally.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range for Manager: $132,250.00 - $192,050.00
