This position is eligible for telework to applicants who reside in Minnesota or a bordering county along the Minnesota state line. Effective June 1, employees living within 75 miles of the work location will be required to work in office at least 50% of the time each month.
This position provides administrative and customer assistance to staff and customers of a group of Workers’ Compensation professionals of the Workers’ Compensation Division who are responsible for providing dispute prevention/dispute resolution services for users of the workers’ compensation system. Work extends to analysis and response to difficult requests and providing interpretation of laws and rules in the processing of work, including the explanation of rights and responsibilities to users of the workers’ compensation system. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Customer service skills sufficient to provide prompt, courteous and accurate information to a variety of customers in person, on the phone, and through e-mail and other written correspondence.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with internal and external customers and to read, explain and interpret a variety of materials to stakeholders.
Skill in word processing sufficient to use software such as Microsoft PowerPoint to create, format and edit presentations.
Word processing skills using Microsoft Word or equivalent software sufficient to produce memorandums, invoices and other transmittal information accurately.
Math skills sufficient to perform basic calculations, assure proper fees are paid and process monetary penalties, refunds and credit memos.
Data entry skills sufficient to read source documents and enter data in database and to compile, sort and verify data accuracy before entering it.
Knowledge of spreadsheet applications such as Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets to enter, to track and analyze data and information.
Knowledge of database management sufficient to enter and retrieve data.

Preferred Qualifications
· Experience working with the public and state agencies.
· Experience with Outlook, SharePoint and navigating systems in an enterprise network environment.
· Organization skills and attention to detail sufficient to accurately manage a variety of tasks and shifting priorities.
· Knowledge of alternative dispute resolution processes.
· Knowledge of workers' compensation laws, and terminology.
· Knowledge of principles and practices of office management.
· Ability to communicate effectively with individuals with a wide range of backgrounds, who do not share your same culture,
ethnicity, language, or other common experiences.
