Robert Half Preventative Maintenance Manager in St. Paul, Minnesota

Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Preventative Maintenance Manager to join our client’s team in St. Paul, MN. This position will play a crucial role in building and developing a team of skilled maintenance staff and will be responsible for prioritizing and overseeing all maintenance activities for their plant. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in preventative maintenance management, a strong grasp of CMMS software, and a hands-on approach to managing a team of maintenance professionals.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of maintenance professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

  • Recruit, hire, and train new maintenance staff, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge necessary to perform their duties effectively.

  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to maintenance team members, identifying opportunities for growth and development.

  • Train and supervise maintenance staff, ensuring adherence to safety and operational protocols.

  • Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for all processing equipment and facilities.

  • Schedule and oversee regular maintenance and inspections to prevent equipment failures.

  • Utilize CMMS (Upkeep) to track maintenance activities, work orders, and equipment history.

  • Collaborate with production teams to minimize disruption and coordinate maintenance schedules.

  • Analyze equipment performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.

  • Manage the inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies.

  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.

  • Respond promptly to emergency repair requests and manage the resolution process.

  • Prepare reports and documentation related to maintenance activities and equipment performance.

    Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in maintenance management, preferably in a processing or manufacturing environment.

  • Proficiency in using CMMS, Upkeep strongly desired.

  • Strong technical knowledge of industrial machinery and equipment.

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; additional technical certifications or degrees in engineering, maintenance management, or a related field is a plus.
