job summary:

A leader in Industrial workplace safety and productivity is looking for a Project Site Superintendent. This is a 3-6 month contract opportunity, could be located anywhere in the US and could lead to a full-time position. This person will be traveling to work sites 50-70% of the time and working from home if not on-site. This role requires a minimum of 5 years of experience leading Capex projects relating to Mechanical Fabrication and/or Electrical installations of safety equipment in manufacturing facilities. Projects range from $100K to $2M. This position offers per diem for non-local candidates and is expected to start the 2nd week of August.

Skills

  • Knowledgeable and experienced with OSHA Safety Compliance in industrial manufacturing settings.

  • Computer literate, proficient with Excel, Word and Outlook. Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Project a plus.

  • Proven supervision and leadership skills with experience in managing projects and trades personnel.

  • Organized, self-motivated, driven to succeed and a problem-solver.

  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written.

  • Ability to read & understand electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, scopes of work and project schedules.

  • Hands-on experience with industrial machines and tools of the trades.

responsibilities:

  • Oversight of the day-to-day activities of a project's field staff, including electricians, fabricators, and laborers.

  • Interfacing with the project managers, the onsite designated representative, plant personnel, internal employees and subcontracted vendors.

  • Coordinates and implements the work schedule per the pre-defined and approved Scope of Work.

  • Promptly notifies the PM of any anticipated work delays, requested scope of work changes, issues/concerns with the customer's cooperation, issues/concerns with employees or subcontracted workers.

  • Conducts daily meetings with employees and subcontractors:

  • Reviews safety and pre-task planning.

  • Coordinates applicable permits for Hot Work, Confined Space, etc.

  • Ensures proper coordination of LOTO.

  • Sets daily direction with measurable goals for the day's activities.

  • Discusses planning for activities in the week ahead, machine status and sign-off projections.

  • Reviews the material status and resource needs.
