Purpose of the Position:
The Commodity Manager/ Commodity Manager is responsible for providing the technical support and implementation of sourcing solutions that ensure continuity of material supply to meet Advanced Energy’s current and future business need for the assigned commodity.
Essential Duties:
Provides support for business and strategic procurement activities related to Mechanical Commodity spend.
Execute corresponding commodity management strategies by implementing PML strategy to support local, regional & global operation needs.
Develop & maintain sustainable supply chain with competitive cost, quality, effective & lean execution.
Evaluates price trends, new products, and manufacturing processes that improve overall commodity team performance for local & regional suppliers.
Support Commodity Manager and Leader in specific divisional issues such as material expediting, VMI and Incoterms.
Evaluate individual supplier manufacture capability and technology roadmap, develop suppliers’ manufacturing capability to meet Advanced Energy’s future product needs.
Support IQC to clarify suppliers FAI qualification issue, follow up the FAI qualification status and new source qualification.
Provide technical support for local or regional design sites and operation sites related to Mechanical commodities.
Develop the approved material list, follow up the laminate qualification status and UL safety file update.
Maintain compliance with corporate and manufacturing operations policies and procedures.
Ensure that the highest ethical standards are adhered to in procurement practices.
Other duties as assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATION / COMPETENCY REQUIRED:
Knowledge:
Basic commodity knowledge with strong purchasing/ procurement knowledge
Supply and demand situation.
Procurement/ Purchasing terms and practices.
BU knowledge - Business and Product.
Program and Project Management.
Skills:
Proven or demonstrated performance developing strategic supplier relationships with good negotiation skills.
Proactive problem solver with strong planning orientation and ability to work with design engineering and suppliers to meet future business need.
Excellent working knowledge of purchasing, production control, and supply chain management.
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and good command of English & Mandarin Chinese.

EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 8 years of experience in supply chain management in manufacturing environment
Ability to communicate with all levels in an organization.
Experience in mechanical/ electronics manufacturing is preferred
Experience with a high mix / low volume part procurement environment is preferred.
Experience with self-directed work teams.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Mechanical Engineering/ Quality Engineering or equivalent education and/or experience.
