Pay Rate:

The pay rate for this job is $18 - $20 / hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law. An employee's pay history will not be a contributing factor where prohibited by local law. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis unless a deadline is otherwise stated.

What you'll be doing as a General Road Helper:

• Performs manual labor tasks such as shoveling, lifting, or sweeping associated with highway maintenance and construction work

• Mows grass using hand mowers or various tractor mowers

• Cleans brush using hand tools, brush saws, chain saws, and brush chippers

• Plows, sands, and salts assigned roadways as necessary to keep them safe for travel

• Repairs bridges and patches roads

• Installs and repairs guard rails and fences

• Installs and maintains pipes and culverts 

• Cleans up refuse and trash

• Performs other duties as assigned or directed, including snow plowing

• Assists crews with hand work incidental to paving and grading operations including duties such as: shoveling, raking, sweeping, cleanup. 

• Performs other related duties as assigned

Shift timings: 1st Shift (Day)

Job requirements:

• Strong work ethic 

• Able to stand on your feet for long periods of time 

• Able to work in all weather conditions 

• Able to lift light to heavy objects
