Actalent Lead Controls Engineer in Sterling Heights, Michigan

Hiring for a Lead Controls Engineer for an Integrator in Sterling Heights.

  • Will be doing programming, startup and debug of automotive conveyor systems

  • Project customer is Ford, for the new Blue Oval City plant in Tennessee

  • This is a Lead position. Will be guiding Jr. Engineers in the field, answering questions, helping direct them for daily tasks.

  • Studio 5000 PLC Programming, debug and troubleshooting

  • This is a large project, $47million in size

  • Will be traveling to Ford in Tennessee starting Q3 of 2024. Will be going back and forth between Michigan and the customer site in TN for the next 2 years.

  • Full time, long term role

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Controls Engineering experience, cradle to grave project work for an integrator

  • 5+ years of automotive conveyor experience from an automation integrator

  • 5+ years of PLC programming within Studio 5000

  • Experience as a Lead, guiding and directing Jr. Engineers

  • Ability to travel

Additional Information:

  • Contract-to-Direct hire opportunity

  • $40-$50/hour while on contract depending on experience. 1.5x for OT (hours past 40 for the week). Pay is weekly.

  • 2 weeks accrued vacation for one year, 6 paid holidays

  • BCBS Insurance, dental/vision available

  • Per diem of $45/day
