Maintenance & Operations Engineering Technician Apprentice

Joining Emerson as an Engineering Technician Apprentice , part of our UK & Ireland Lifecycle Services group you will be given the opportunity to learn from some of the best managers and engineers in our industries!

As an Engineering Technician apprentice, you will provide help and assistance to a diverse range of customers on a broad variety of services, taking ownership of customer issues reported and seeing problems through to resolution.

The role involves travelling within a defined territory, onsite at customer locations. A company car will be provided so a full UK driving license is essential.

You will play a key part in supporting the LifeCycle Service Operations team deliver service excellence consistently across the business.

Adaptability, communication and listening skills are essential in an environment where customers’ expectations are constantly evolving.

You will be trained in how to use internal systems and given the opportunity to learn customer service and technical skills which can be used within this role and in future positions.

Over the course of the apprenticeship, you will study subjects such as Process Level, Temperature, Flow, Pressure, Coriolis, and Meter Calibrations.

You will be enrolled onto a Level 3 Maintenance & Operations Engineering Technician apprenticeship and fully supported along the journey;

  • Your line manager and mentor will give you help and guidance throughout your apprenticeship programme.

  • Your Operational colleagues, who most of your daily interactions will be with will provide support and knowledge.

  • You will be assigned a buddy.

  • Human Resources​, will support the development of your career with Emerson

This apprenticeship is delivered through a combination of Work Based Assessment and day/block release. The programme will culminate in an End Point Assessment, where all the skills and knowledge gained on the apprenticeship will be formally tested.

This standard meets the professional standards of the Engineering Council for registration as Engineering Technician (Eng Tech) by an appropriate Professional Engineering Institution.

Future Prospects:

On successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will have the opportunity to join the Field Service Team and be introduced to further development opportunities within Emerson

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:

  • GCSE or equivalent Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above)

  • Demonstrate ability to communicate well across a matrix organisation

  • Experience in Service equivalent roles is advantageous.

  • English fluency to business standard essential

  • Computer literacy essential with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications [Excel, Work and PowerPoint] essential

  • Demonstrates the Emerson Values

  • Must be prepared to travel as required

  • Full clean UK driving license
