Duties of a Hospital Attendant may include the following but are not limited to: Adheres to mission and values of Stony Brook University Medical Center Maintains a safe patient environment by keeping hallways and fire doors free from clutter Maintains a clean, orderly, safe environment for patients, visitors and personnel Assists in the organization and restocking of needed supplies on the unit Assists with room turnover including stripping of room and resetting up the room Assists in maintaining par of hospital equipment and unit specific equipment Contact appropriate department re: equipment and survey equipment needed for repair Return unnecessary equipment or supplies Generate requests through BME for broken equipment and generate work orders through physical plant for needed repairs on the unit Cleans equipment in accordance with recommendations Assists in transporting and accompanying patients to various areas in the hospital as required Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information Participates in the orientation of new employees as directed by unit leadership Communicates and works effectively on a daily basis with other staff and other departments Maintains a supportive, collegial relationship with fellow staff members Uses supplies and equipment on the unit in a safe and cost-effective manner. Orders supplies and equipment Housekeeping duties as needed Maintain compliance with Infection Control policies.
