Position Summary:

This position is responsible for providing Technical Support to manufacturing processes within a business unit. The job maintains and troubleshoots a wide range of machines, tools, equipment, and computer programs to establish and support production processes that aid in the production of furniture components in a Lean Manufacturing environment.

Provides technical support to engineers and production to ensure project and production goals of the organization are met.

Suggests or implements changes that result in improved processes, products and productivity.

Using technology tools, creates drawings, patterns and technical documentation needed to support engineering, purchasing and production.

Reviews engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.

Responsible for the programming of computer numeric controlled equipment for the production of both standard and modified product.

Responsible to stay current with programming and technology advances within the CNC equipment environment.

Assembles/fabricates jigs, fixtures and holding devices needed to support production.

Ensures jigs and fixtures function appropriately with complex angles or contours. .

Provides assistance in the review of existing and design of new manufacturing equipment, processes, and products.

Assists in development and implementation of changes to improve process, product, efficiency, capability and yield.

Gains or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.

Orders new tooling, tools and equipment or repairs tools as needed.

Inventories, stores, and distributes tooling, tools and other equipment.
