Google Commodity Manager, ASICs and Custom Silicon in Sunnyvale, California

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management or Business Administration, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 10 years of experience in sourcing with a focus on electronics components, semiconductors, custom silicon/ASIC.

  • Experience in implementing strategies across multiple functions of an organization.

  • Experience with manufacturing flow for silicon and packaging.

  • Experience developing and executing sourcing strategies and delivering results.

  • Experience managing supplier relationships and negotiating agreements.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA or Master's degree in Engineering.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

  • Excellent communication and people management skills.

As a Commodity Manager, you will work with Engineering teams to make sure Google has the supplies and equipment to put into production the innovative products coming from our Engineering teams. You will use strategic supplier relationships to optimize our total cost of ownership for our global and growing infrastructure.

In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of supplier development and ongoing performance management to Google's cutting edge technology and business needs. You will develop and execute Google's custom silicon acquisition strategy and reduce total cost of ownership for servers, storage, and networking hardware in support of our infrastructure deployment that powers all of Google's services. As a professional, you will be expected to lead and participate on large projects as well as understand and resolve complex issues that put company objectives at risk. You will be a key part of a supply chain team that drives continuous improvement and ensures operational excellence in support of Google's rapid growth.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $153,000-$230,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Develop and implement comprehensive global sourcing strategies for ASICs, networking chips, custom CPUs aligning with overall business objectives.

  • Secure comprehensive agreements with suppliers, skilled at pricing agreements.

  • Manage supplier performance in cost, quality, delivery and technology alignment while providing regular updates and reports on sourcing activities, performance metrics, and market insights. Implement supply chain improvements.

  • Manage request for quotation process, business awards securing technology, commercial and supply terms. Collaborate with internal stakeholders.

  • Drive next-generation technology enablement for product roadmaps.
