       License and Certification Qualifications: Georgia Public Notary preferred. Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) or Professional Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred.Education Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.Experience Qualifications: Three years in an office/clerical environment required. Experience in human resources or customer service preferred.Skills Qualifications: Ability to communicate with others in an effective and tactful manner; ability to exercise independent judgment, troubleshoot, and solve problems; ability to follow oral and written instructions quickly and accurately; ability to speak effectively when advising employees; excellent telephone and public relations skills; ability to work as part of a team; flexibility and adaptability to change; ability to represent Gwinnett County Public Schools in a positive and professional manner; ability to work across functional boundaries and interact with employees at all levels of the organization; and strong computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office required. Knowledge of PeopleSoft and the ability to read, understand, and fluently speak the Spanish language preferred.Primary Responsibilities: Responsible for providing world-class customer service by greeting visitors and guests at the primary entrances of the J. Alvin Wilbanks Instructional Support Center (ISC), answering telephone lines, and handling district inquires for the Human Resources Division.1. Provide world-class customer service by serving as the receptionist to receive visitors and guests at the primary entrances of the J. Alvin Wilbanks Instructional Support Center (ISC).a. Greet visitors and guests and respond to their inquiries with accurate information and/or direct them to the appropriate personnel or location.b. Answer, screen, and route inquiries of telephone callers, visitors, and staff for the purpose of taking appropriate action and/or directing to appropriate personnel for issue resolution. c. Operate the switchboard and answer the telephone line to accurately and professionally respond to inquiries, forward/transfer telephone calls, and/or take messages.2. Notify appropriate personnel of visitors, messages, and drop off items. 3. Provide relevant and current information concerning the school system.4. Provide directions to all Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) facilities and school locations.a. Answer general inquiries and questions about the district.5. Maintain relevant and current information concerning GCPS telephone numbers and department locations.a. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.b. Create and maintain various contact guides and directories to ensure world-class customer service is provided to customers.6. Communicate with all parties in a businesslike, courteous, and efficient manner.a. Represent the district professionally in all aspects of communication.b. Help cultivate a responsive and customer-centered climate.c. Handle internal and external customers graciously and effectively.d. Serve as a liaison between the district and emergency responders in the event of an E911 call from the Alcatel phone lines.7. Perform other duties as assigned. Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time. The employee is also required to talk, hear, stand, and walk. The employee may be required to use hands to touch, handle, feel, and/or reach. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
