Microelectronics Intern

Job Description

Location: Swindon / Edinburgh

You will be working alongside design and verification engineers from our product teams and with our external partners as we seek to develop and apply cutting-edge Machine Learning (ML) technologies to accelerate the verification of our devices.

The role is expected to include:

• Configuring and running parametric simulations

• Collating results data and preparing it for onward analysis

• Testing the performance of the ML technologies during development

• Troubleshooting issues

• Creation of simple scripts to assist in the automation of repetitive tasks

During the internship you will gain insight into how complex mixed-signal chips are designed and verified, the challenges our engineers face, and how Renesas is pushing technological boundaries as part of its mission to ‘make our lives easier’.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, in their 3rd or final year of studies

• Good communication/written skills in English language

• Good interpersonal skills and teamwork

• Basic programming and scripting skills

• Strong problem solving mentality

• Experience using Unix an advantage

• Experience using Cadence Virtuoso (or similar circuit simulation tools) an advantage
