SUNY Upstate Medical University Clinical Assistant Professor/Bariatric Surgeon in Syracuse, New York

Job Summary:

The surgeon responsibilities will include: clinical coverage of General and Bariatric surgery at Upstate University Hospital and Community Campus; inpatient and outpatient general surgery consultation; participation in general surgery and bariatric surgery call; supervise the peri-operative care of bariatric and general surgery patients as needed; provide clinical oversight for surgical house staff, residents and students in caring for patients on general surgery and bariatric surgery service.

Participate in medical student, resident and continuing medical education activities which includes didactic lectures, departmental conferences, CME programs, teaching rounds, resident evaluations and other educational activities within the department.

Minimum Qualifications:

MD/DO; must have or be eligible for an unrestricted New York state medical license; must be board certified or eligible in general surgery.

Fellowship Trained in Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgery with experience in endoscopy, foregut and bariatric surgery.

Preferred Qualifications:

Work Days:

Monday-Friday; day-time hours; call requirements with some limited weeknight and weekend hours on rotation.
