SUNY Upstate Medical University Data Reporting Project Manager in Syracuse, New York

Job Summary:

The Data Reporting Project Manager involves collecting, processing, and reporting on various data points related to student performance, enrollment, retention, and other key metrics. As the primary Student data steward, they are responsible for the management and security of all student data, within Upstate and the multiple systems that utilize the data. They are responsible for the following tasks: Data management: Defining, implementing, and enforcing data management policies and procedures; Data classification: Classifying data according to data classification policy, and reviewing classifications annually; Data access: Reviewing and approving requests for access to data; Data quality: Tracking quality and resolving data-related issues; Data reporting: Ensuring data is collected correctly for local and federal reporting.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Information Systems, Education, or a related field. Five (5) years experience in higher education, student affairs BANNER, Medhub, and systems work required. Must have a strong understanding of Business practices within Student Affairs, Registrar, Financial Aid, Admissions, Campus Activities, and Bursar departments. Must be able to translate and communicate information in written or oral form

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced degrees or relevant certifications are a plus. Previous experience in data analysis, reporting, or a related role is preferred. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. SUNY Upstate systems experience preferred.
