Crouse Hospital Director Nursing NICU in Syracuse, New York

Crouse’s NICU team is hiring a Director of Nursing for Neonatology to provide strategic leadership and oversight for the NICU Department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care in compliance with clinical guidelines and hospital policies. This role is responsible for operational management, staff development, budgetary oversight, and adherence to regulatory standards in a hospital environment. This position requires a strong knowledge of NICU Care guidelines and regulatory requirements.

Pay Range: Based on experience and education, up to $200,000/year.

Available Schedule(s): Full-Time.

Director of Nursing Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage variation in clinical practices to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and cost.

  • Stay abreast of internal/external benchmarks, accreditations, and designations, and designations and active pursue efforts to achieve.

  • Ensure efficient patient throughput and delivery of high quality patient-centered care through volume forecasting, patient flow coordination, and admission/discharge planning.

    Director of Nursing Position Requirements:

  • Currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing with Master's Degree in a related field, or a Bachelor's Degree in another field with a Master's Degree in Nursing.

  • Basic Life support (BLS) certification required at the time of hire or within two (2) weeks after hire.

  • Certification in a specialty area preferred.

  • Five (5) years or more of management/leadership experience in a Level 4 NICU. Must possess demonstrated leadership ability.
