Boeing Brazil Engineering Center is looking for a Mid-Career level Engineer with experience in Airborne Electronic Hardware (AEH) , reporting to the Flight Control Electronics Manager, working out of the São José Dos Campos, Brazil office.
We are seeking accomplished, self-motivated engineers to provide oversight of supplier’s design and verification of Field Programmable Gate Arrays and Programmable (FPGA) devices for Flight Controls Electronics. Engage in FPGA design and verification activities as required. Assist in evaluating risks and opportunities and assist suppliers in implementing risk mitigation plans. Works under minimal direction. The applicant should have availability for extended or frequent travels to the supplier’s facility in the US.
The Mid-Career AEH Flight Controls Engineer will join the Flight Control Firmware team to support many of the responsibilities listed below.
Position Responsibilities:
Participate in system level development, verification, validation, and certification of designs through both laboratory and airplane testing;
Participate in system certification efforts, including: creation of required certification artifacts; confirming and demonstrating traceability to regulatory requirements; and resolution of regulation conflicts;
Leads work to develop, verify, document, and approve Airborne Electronic Hardware (AEH) in electronic and electrical systems and equipment.
Approves analysis and translation of system requirements to hardware requirements and detailed design data to create AEH.
Leads review of hardware requirements validation and verification work in complex system designs to assure that operational and functional requirements are met.
Works with others to approve equipment verification strategies and system hardware testing to meet airplane certification requirements.
Conducts independent reviews of equipment developer processes and data, and reports results to program leadership.
Provides critical support for changes to AEH in fielded equipment over the entire product lifecycle.
This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Must have existing rights to work in Brazil
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited course of study in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Control and Automation Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering
Must be registered or eligible to register with the Engineering and Agronomy Regional Council (Conselho Regional de Engenharia e Agronomia - CREA).
Proficient in both verbal and written communications skills in the English Language.
Experience with hardware design assurance activities per RTCA DO-254
Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):
Experience in design and analysis of Flight Control Systems
Experience in requirements development, analysis, decomposition, validation and verification
Experience with design and development of embedded systems.
Experience with hardware requirements development and verification.
Experience with audits or design review activities.
Experience with certification process for aeronautical products
Experience in requirement management tools (DOORS or similar)
