IT Software Development Advisor/ Hybrid

PRIMARY PURPOSE : To design and maintain robust, scalable software architecture for one or more elements of CMS software systems; to oversee programming, implementation and maintenance revisions of specified projects; and to evaluate technologies and provide consultation regarding applications and systems needs related to these elements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee all software developers and development initiatives managing timelines, resources and project plans

  • Analyze and translate business requirements and high level use cases into functional applications.

  • Develop secure web based applications to support our clients using ASP.Net front end web services and SQL Server back end databases.

  • Expand existing web applications to enhance functionality and increase usability and performance.

  • Continue development and support of existing Salesforce systems with tight integration to SQL Server

  • Develop API Integration between claims management systems and various vendor and client systems in order to share data and create operational efficiencies with our clients and vendor partners

  • Develop extensive integration between claims management system and financial database application support all billing and claim information

  • Review SQL Server database tables, indexes and relationships to store new data sets as well as improve performance of existing databases

  • Meet with various department heads and staff to fully understand business needs in order to effectively design systems to improve productivity and enhance business operations

  • Remain up to date with the terminology, concepts and best practices for coding .NET web, SalesForce, API and mobile Applications.

  • Working independently with minimal supervision and oversight. Develop and maintain effective Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) protocols and procedures to design, develop and test high quality software systems.

  • Work with IT Manager to ensure SQL and Web servers and systems and operating efficiently and performing at their best

  • Provide technical support for all web servers, web services, SQL Server and associated systems.

  • Work with IT to create and expand demo, test and staging environments for all supported systems

  • Perform other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Administers company personnel policies in all areas and follows company staffing standards and training recommendations.

  • Interviews, hires and establishes colleague performance development plans; conducts colleague performance discussions.

  • Provides support, guidance, leadership and motivation to promote maximum performance.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Licensing

Bachelor's degree with major in Information Systems or Management from an accredited college or university preferred. Masters degree strongly preferred.

Experience

Ten (10) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education or experience required to include seven (7) years of software and development experience. Five (5) years hands-on programming experience in database and data driven applications strongly preferred.

Skills & Knowledge

  • High level knowledge of software development areas including software development life cycle methodologies, specification development, security, application modularization and logic specifications

  • Strong oral and written communication, including technical writing skills and presentation skills

  • Leadership/management/motivational skills

  • Minimum 2 years in a senior software development position.

  • Minimum of 7 years software development experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information System highly desired

  • Extensive experience with the ASP.NET and VB.Net framework, Web API, Visual Studio and working with Web Services

  • Strong experience with SQL Server database and index design and development

  • Strong object-oriented development and design skills and experience

  • Experience with HTML5, XLM, JavaScript/JQuery, CSS3 and JSO

  • Experience with SalesForce APEX programming language highly desirable

  • Knowledge of at least one of the .NET languages (e.g. C#, Visual Basic .NET) and HTML5/CSS3

  • Knowledge and experience with architecture styles/APIs (REST, SOAP, RPC)

  • Understanding and experience with SDLC Life Cycles methodologies and procedures and tools

  • Strong attention to detail with excellent troubleshooting and communication skills

  • Strong ability to collect business requirements and turn them into functional applications.
