Key job responsibilities
Process Optimization
Identify and analyze operational inefficiencies
Develop and implement process improvement solutions
Lead Lean/Six Sigma projects
Create standardized work procedures
Monitor KPIs and metrics for transportation operations
Project Management
Lead cross-functional improvement projects
Develop project timelines and resource allocation plans
Track project progress and ROI
Manage change implementation processes
Document and report project outcomes
Data Analysis
Analyze transportation metrics and performance data
Identify trends and improvement opportunities
Create data visualization tools and dashboards
Develop predictive models for operational optimization
Generate regular performance reports
Team Leadership
Train staff on continuous improvement methodologies
Facilitate improvement workshops and kaizen events
Coach teams on problem-solving techniques
Build and maintain improvement culture
Coordinate with various departments and stakeholders
A day in the life
Review overnight transportation reports, noting any significant disruptions or issues that occurred.
Attend the daily operations and discuss current performance metrics, ongoing projects, and any immediate challenges.
Facilitate a cross-functional team through problem identification and solution brainstorming.
Analyze data from the Transportation Management System (TMS) to identify trends in route efficiency.
Meet with the finance team to review the ROI of recent improvement projects and discuss budget allocation for upcoming initiatives.
Work on the project plan for an upcoming automation initiative aimed at reducing manual data entry in the dispatch process.
About the team
As part of Amazon Customer Excellence Systems (ACES) team, we work to continually improve the Amazon Logistics experience. We look after high-impact initiatives and help to develop, roll out and look after a range of logistics-focused projects. Using data-driven tools, we’re able to see how we can make processes better and more efficient, or how we can reduce waste across the business.
Our team supports field operations to launch new programmes and technology-based solutions across Mexico, helping them meet customer demand and drive customer-focused innovation.

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree
• 5+ years experience in transportation/logistics operations
• Proven track record in process improvement
• Advanced Excel and data analysis skills
• Knowledge of transportation management systems
• Familiarity with process mapping tools
Preferred Qualifications
• Master's degree
• Six Sigma Black Belt certification
• Project management certification (PMP)
• Experience with automation and digital transformation
• Knowledge of multiple transportation modes (truck, rail, air, ocean)
• Lean Six Sigma certification (minimum Green Belt)
• Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau)
