Microsoft Corporation Account Executive - New Business in Tokyo, Japan

Microsoft Advertising (MSA) empowers the largest advertisers around the world to reach their maximum potential through paid search engine marketing on the Microsoft Advertising platform. We are seeking top performing Account Executives with search and native advertising experience who can drive revenue and increase customer satisfaction by developing and cultivating strategic client relationships and delivering customized solutions aligning to the client’s advertising needs.

The Account Executive (AE) in Microsoft Advertising enables Microsoft to better serve strategic customers by applying customer obsession to what clients care about and need, ensuring our Microsoft Advertising story is valued and understood, and acting to build successful, long-term relationships.

This role is flexible in that you can work up to 50% from home. This position is open to candidates that are currently based in Japan and holds a valid work permit, for full time hours, in Japan.

Responsibilities

Business Development & Acquisition:

  • Identify new business leads through multiple channels, fostering and growing business relationships with direct customers and agencies by offering a compelling portfolio of advertising products and innovative solutions to meet their business needs. By combining best in class sales skills with rich data science, you will empower advertisers around the world to perform and reach their maximum potential through paid search engine marketing (SEM)

Strategic Sales Planner

  • Develops, leads, and executes MSA sales strategy & priorities to enable client growth of existing and new products, throughout the 6 month onboarding period. Purposefully positions outcomes within the context of the client’s digital marketing journey from current to future state.

Relationship Builder

  • Influences CMO and Chief Digital Marketing Stakeholders through Relationship Building: Acts as a compelling storyteller, leads with emotional intelligence, communicates with confidence and by effectively listening to identify clients’ end to end needs.

Sales Leader

  • Spearheads the sales strategy development for your region, ensuring effective engagement with key internal and external stakeholders for market opportunities, coupled with a comprehensive grasp of the dynamics within your market.

Sales Closer

  • Negotiation Planning: Expands the client's view of the importance of MSA products and concedes negotiables in an order that ensures both parties feel they are winning. Effectively maintains good working relationships with those involved in negotiation; persuading others without using manipulation; & maintaining a positive atmosphere during difficult objections & negotiations.

Sales Excellence

  • Leads update of pipeline reviewing top new opportunities, identifying roadblocks, and ensures the right resources are engaged to overcome client objections. Executes sales per expectations against pipeline, new client, and opportunity management goals per the MSA Solution Selling process for new deals, driving for client verifiable outcomes at each stage.

  • Develops strategies across the book of business for maximizing upselling opportunities and driving revenue/product adoption across new client acquisitions.

Industry Knowledge

  • Understands Industry patterns/trends, and how they apply to clients and conversations. Expert solution seller, social seller, and sales challenger. Expert in compelling storytelling, selling with empathy and emotional intelligence, critical thinking and thought leadership.

Qualifications

  • Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • The successful individual will bring 5+ years experience working in the Digital Advertising industry, with in depth experience in Search advertising

  • Proven ability in New Business Development and Customer Acquisition, in a fast paced environment.

  • Customer obsession, a passion for innovation and best-practice sharing, all while delivering exceptional results over time.

  • Proven track record of exceptional performance, measured against revenue and customer satisfaction

  • Relentless focus on the customer experience while balancing the needs of the business

  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for Digital Advertising, AI and technology and its use in driving revenue, efficiency, customer and employee satisfaction

  • Flexibility to manage through change and thrive amid ambiguity

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills, ability to scale across all levels of an organization

  • Ability to travel in market, as required

  • Language fluency both in Japanese and English
