Amazon Principal Product Manager - Science, Economics and Decision Science in Tokyo, Japan

Description

The Economics and Decision Science team is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Product Manager - Science (Technical) to join us as the team’s science product leader. In this role, you will be responsible for quarterbacking the “end-to-end” science product development lifecycle. You will work backward from our customers — internal and end-customers — to identify product opportunities. You will work with scientists to define a problem solving roadmap and validate the science approach using experimentations. You will collaborate with finance, engineers, designers, and business stakeholders to deliver the science solutions to our customers and scale the successes globally.

Key job responsibilities

  • Work backward from customers to define science/product vision, strategy, and roadmap — near- and long-term.

  • Assess Return-on-Investment of competing projects, prioritize what is right for our customers, make feature trade-off decisions, and drive alignment from a diverse set of stakeholders.

  • Lead multi-functional collaborations across science, engineering, and product to deliver complex products.

  • Define clear and measurable product goals and success metrics to track performance and drive continuous improvement.

  • Communicate product updates, progress, and insights effectively to senior/executive leadership.

  • Mentor and junior team members and promote their career growth.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, analytics, mathematics, statistics, IT or equivalent

  • 4+ years of end to end product delivery experience

  • Experience technical product management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. A PhD is preferred.

  • Experience in productionizing customer-facing ML/AI and/or causal inference technologies.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and drive consensus among diverse stakeholders, including at the executive level.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
