ProMedica Health System Vice President of Facilities, Construction, Real Estate & Security in Toledo, Ohio

ProMedica, nationally recognized as a best employer, is seeking a visionary Vice President of Facilities, Construction, Real Estate and Security.

POSITION SUMMARY Lead and manage the team(s) responsible for all construction projects from initial feasibility thru design development, construction, FFE procurement and installation. Assures System facilities, plant, grounds, and equipment are supported through standardized practices in accordance with life safety code, engineering standards, and regulatory agencies. Provides direction for the Security division through long and short-term goals.

ACCOUNTABILITIES 1. Lead, coordinate and align all aspects of facilities, construction, real estate, and security services across the system to achieve excellence in operations, clinical services, and financial performance. Ensure effective integration and standardization. 2. Responsible for the development and implementation of standardized policies, procedures, programs, and budgets. Ensure services are provided within accepted industry standards of productivity and established budgets. 3. Responsible for capital planning/prioritization to assure appropriate allocation of dollars. Create systems, processes, and reporting relationships necessary to assure that projects are done in a manner that meets ProMedica system strategic goals. 4. Responsible for developing and fostering internal and external relationships to strengthen communication and partnerships to deliver successful outcomes. This includes evaluating project prioritization, contract execution, delivery methods, and resource planning. 5. Responsible for development of overall department budgets, individual project financial reconciliation, and management report outs. 6. Participate with senior leadership in preparation of short and long-term master plans. Work with business units to effectively ensure that capital projects are aligned with corporate strategy. 7. Manage each reporting department through a continuous cycle of factually based analyses, effective planning, concretely stated standards, prioritized objectives, and efficient operations. Regularly conduct performance appraisals linking measured performance with compensation. Develop staff needed to achieve system objectives. 8. Communicate and collaborate with government and regulatory agencies to understand processes and improve working relationships. 9. Assure, in all projects, compliance with all applicable JCAHO, NFPA, OSHA, ADA, local, state, and federal standards. 10. Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education: Must have a Bachelor’s in engineering, construction management, architecture, or related field, or a Master’s degree in business administration or equivalent experience.

Skills: • Proven leadership track record overseeing transformational changes from innovation through implementation while working collaboratively across a diverse stakeholder population to create sustained value. • Ability to develop others and achieve results through effective delegation. • Proven strategic and business acumen including financial skills with experience successfully managing a large budget. • Demonstrated success leading projects and initiatives to improve efficiency, quality, safety, and service levels in a complex environment.

• Ability to develop and implement a strategic vision for all services areas. • Ability to recruit and retain highly skilled professional staff. • Display an entrepreneurial mindset, with clarity of vision and a forward-thinking approach. • Effective collaboration and relationship building at all levels of the organization. • Comfort with tension, conflict and negotiation created by broad shifts in culture and process. • Ability to build and effectively communicate consensus • Knowledge of continuous quality improvement processes and the ability to apply them. • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including advanced formal presentation skills that result in understanding and commitment to strategic initiatives. • Displays a systems mindset, with a willingness to want what is best for all ProMedica entities, understanding and caring about each hospital equally. • Aptitude for optimizing resources and efficiency. • Holds self and others accountable. • Displays a high degree of executive presence and emotional intelligence. • Dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Years of Experience: 10 years of progressively responsible senior level leadership experience; proven experience in developing a strategy and driving tangible results; proven ability to develop and elevate other to achieve team success.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience: Prefer experience leading/partnering in a large matrixed healthcare system.

WORKING CONDITIONS Personal Protective Equipment: According to facility requirements, as determined by the location. Physical Demands: Moderate walking, climbing steps, lifting, bending. Potential for many assignments to be completed virtually.
