PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
As the Project Manager Facilities, you will lead all aspects of the Project Management services to the various entities and subsidiaries for CPKC in for an assigned region, for all leased and owned sites. The successful candidate will develop and deliver the overall design of the project and to supervise and update budgets and schedules throughout the course of a project to ensure that it is completed on time and within budgets established and approved.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Coordinate contracts, including safety orientation, field inspection and supervision of contract work on various facilities construction/maintenance and yard infrastructure projects for the assigned region
Coordinate work activities with internal and external departments and customers to ensure safe, cost-efficient execution of projects and programmed maintenance work
Accountable for utility infrastructure maintenance to ensure business continuity
Design and Lead utility infrastructure projects on a day-to-day basis to ensure completion within schedule and budget
Ensure any related environmental issues are taken care of according to company mandated policies and local codes, as they relate to projects
Prepare budget requirements for multi-year planning
Responsible for all gas, water, sanitary management projects in determining feasibility and project execution
Lead all aspects of all assigned facilities construction project from conception to delivery
Review each project in-depth to schedule tasks, subcontractors, tools, equipment, and materials deliveries
Review work progress daily, manage the costs and the behaviours of the site personnel under their charge
Review the performance of contractors to verify that quality, cost and schedule objectives are maintained
Prepare and review project cost estimates for appropriation of funds relating to facilities
Negotiate with the construction manager, contractors, suppliers and consultants to ensure the Company derives maximum benefits from its expenditures
Ensure that CPKC safety requirements are adhered to on all sites
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Degree in Architecture, Engineering or Facilities related designation or equivalent experience. Preference will be given to mechanical or civil engineers with experience in railway facility management or commercial construction
Project Management Professional (PMP) designation would be considered an asset
Proficient in various construction teams, project management processes, and financial management, along with relevant knowledge of building codes, contract law, and legislation related to project work
Strong digital literacy (Microsoft Office, Project, Excel, SAP, Revit and AutoCAD)
Experience leading or considerably contributing to the preparation of RFP’s, tenders and tender awards
Ability to work in a fast paced environment; prioritizing multiple demands on time sensitive projects
Ability to problem solve, complete work you're doing efficiently, and exercise sound engineering judgment
Outstanding critical thinking skills

Management Conductor Program:
Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC.
