The Opportunity:

Join our team at March of Dimes as a Job Developer in Toronto, Ontario! As part of our dynamic team, you'll be responsible for fostering employer engagement, facilitating job placements, and providing crucial support to both candidates and employers. If you're passionate about making a difference in the lives of job seekers and promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace, we want to hear from you!

Roles and responsibilities:

Employer Engagement

  • Develop relationships with employers across various business sectors throughout the GTA

  • Complete lead generation through cold calls (phone and in-person); to uncover job opportunities

  • Operate as contact person for business; identify employer priority needs and initiate job orders

  • Facilitate job placements; Conduct (client/vacancy) Job Matching and create/tailor/modify jobs to suit candidates as needed

  • Develop on-the-job training plan for the candidates as required

  • Provide job retention support to candidates and employers to foster long term employment success

  • Promote and facilitate Employer Financial Incentives; Wage Subsidy and/or Retention Incentive

  • Ensure Employer Registration and relevant forms are completed and maintained

Case Management Support

  • Receive Job Development referrals from Assessment and Planning team and provide updates on job development efforts and opportunities

  • Collaborate with Assessment & Planning team to help prepare job seekers prepare for employment

  • Conduct mock interviews/coaching as required

  • Use case management systems to complete case notes following all employer contacts or meetings

  • Complete scheduled follow-up calls to confirm employment status/hours and obtain doc evidence

  • Respond promptly to client and/or employer concerns to avoid potential job loss; Initiate suitable retention support services

  • Provide ongoing support to clients and employers to foster ongoing success at 3 and 12-months post-employment

Marketing and Promotion

  • Promote the hiring of persons with disabilities and other specialized population groups to local businesses

  • Develop and maintain relationships with community stakeholders as part pf generating and managing client and employer referrals

  • Represent MODC and develop brand awareness through the marketing of MODC programs and services

Qualifications and experience:

  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in job development, employer outreach and marketing; and customer relationship management; reputable experience in recruitment and screening

  • Sensitivity to issues/barriers that people with disabilities experience

  • Well-developed time management, problem solving, organizational and teamwork skills

  • Effective negotiation skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, sales, and customer service skills

  • In-depth knowledge of the current labour market and labour market trends

  • Experience in job development, employer outreach and marketing, and customer relationship management; reputable experience in recruitment and screening

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and work well under pressure

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and Adobe software; Knowledge EOIS CaMS is considered an asset

  • Ability to document, maintain records and assist in reports

  • Driver’s license and vehicle

  • Ability to work outside business hours when required
