Position : Senior Data Content Manager – Structured Finance

Location : Centennial, CO; Toronto, Canada; Virtual, North Carolina

The Team:

SPGI Ratings Data Content Management (DCM) acts as the primary data contact between technology, quality, business, commercial, methodologies and other global teams. The team is responsible for managing Structured Finance content in the US, LATAM, EMEA, and Asia. We document end to end data flows from source to target. We have strong technical, analytical, and project management skills with an interest in developing tools using Gen AI & LLM’s.

The Impact:

The successful candidate will bring a comprehensive grasp of Fixed Income data, coupled with strong technical acumen. This role also requires the ability to effectively communicate and present data findings to multiple stakeholders across Ratings. An interest in Generative AI and its applications in the financial sector will be an advantage along with familiarity of SAFE agile methodologies. This role is pivotal in leveraging data to inform strategic initiatives and requires a candidate who is not only technically proficient but also a strategic thinker and effective communicator.

Responsibilities:

As part of the Structured Finance DCM team, this role encompasses, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Analyzing and interpreting data to support analytical decisions and commercial priorities.

  • Support a variety of teams with data insights, modifications, and analysis.

  • Collaborate with global tech, analytical, and data teams to drive Ratings projects and programs forward.

  • Utilize tools such as Python, and SQL to link, process, and visualize large datasets efficiently.

  • Familiarity with AWS & Databricks or similar tools

  • Support process updates as part of criteria and commercial use case development and lead operationalizing of these processes.

  • Conduct thorough data profiling to ensure the integrity and accuracy of data.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate AI technologies that enhance data capabilities.

  • Presenting complex data insights in a clear and persuasive manner to stakeholders, tailoring the communication style to suit diverse audiences.

  • Staying abreast of industry trends in Structured Finance, specifically around commercial and residential mortgage loans.

  • Experience with statistical analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, R, Stata, and data visualization tools such as Microstrategy or Power BI.

  • Familiar with big data technology such as HIVE, Hadoop, AWS, and other related concepts.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with and understand technical subjects and emerging technologies.

  • Familiarity with Agile, SCRUM and Lean concepts.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3-5 year of experience working with large data sets and disciplines.

  • At least 2 years of Structured Finance or data management experience with technical skills required (e.g., data querying, data analysis).

  • Strong SQL, R, Python, or proficient in other scripting languages.

  • Familiarity with AWS database architecture and ability to manipulate large data sets.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with exceptional time management.

  • Interest in LLMs and Gen AI.

  • Agile (scrum) experience a plus.

Compensation/Benefits Information : (This section is only applicable to US candidates)

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $59,800 to $118,900. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
