In order to be considered an applicant for this position you must meet the minimum qualifications as stated in this announcement. HVCC does not support Visas. Applicants must currently hold an unrestricted employment authorization to work in the United States and appointment will be contingent upon completion of a background check.

Qualifications for Employment:

Education (Minimum Requirement):

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field OR Associate’s Degree in Accounting or related field and 5 years related experience. Two years of accounting experience. Experience in reconciliation accounts with a computerized ERP system. Demonstrated analytical skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred:

Not-for-profit fund accounting experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Nature and Scope of Duties:

The Finance Assistant reports to the Accounts Payable Manager and or his/her designee and performs the following duties:

• Assists with the day-to-day activities in the Accounts Payable Office

• Follow up with vendors to ensure timely payments

• Prepare and post credit card payments

• Processes travel reimbursements

• Assists with preparation, review and analysis of statistical and financial reports for internal (College) or external (Federal, State, etc.) distribution/submission.

• Assists with analysis of accounts payable accounts within the General Ledger in accordance with documented procedures and schedules.

• Prepares requests for standard monthly payments.

• Assist with the preparation of data and state reporting of unclaimed funds.

• Reviews open purchase orders and invoices

• Performs other duties assigned by the Accounts Payable Manager and or his/her designee.

This is a Part-Time 12-month, 26-hour work week, benefitted, Management Confidential position with an hourly rate of $22.00.
