Portland General Electric Trade Confirmations (Senior or Principal Financial Risk Analyst) in Tualatin, Oregon

Summary/Job Function

Perform confirmation functions related to the utility industry, including power, gas, transmission, and financial swaps for power and gas. Use your expertise in the reconciliation of all deals into system of record. Includes working with other groups to ensure data accuracy and completeness. Investigate and troubleshoot confirmations or deal discrepancies, expediting dispute resolution. Reconciling deal attributes to PGE data. Analyze large volumes of data for reporting, accounting, and invoicing purposes. Maintain strong, professional client relationships to ensure quality service is provided and received by PGE confirmations.

This position is classified internally as either a Senior Financial Risk or Principal Financial Risk Analyst. There is only one position available, but we can hire at either the Senior or Principal level.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Risk Analyst, Confirmations

  • Ensure transactions executed across various trading platforms are entered accurately and completely in system of record

  • Provide data as requested by PGE Internal Audit Services for quarterly SOX testing and compliance

  • Intermediate or advance knowledge of contract interpretation and deal translation for accurate system representation

  • Send out confirmations to counterparties in a timely manner

Senior Financial Risk Analyst

Confirmation Management

Develops and manages confirmations with vendors maintains confirmation records; troubleshoots issues with trader.

Reporting

Develops reports in response to business need; compiles and analyzes data and creates meaningful analytics to inform business decisions; collaborates with others to obtain data from multiple sources; develops models and alternatives.

Consulting

Responds to information requests and suggests additional data and analysis to meet business needs; analyzes data trends and makes recommendations; identifies gaps in data, metrics, or processes; develops and tracks progress toward metrics; serves as the expert for deal confirmations.

Education/Experience/Certifications

Education

Requires a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, statistics, psychology or other related field or equivalent experience.

Experience

Typically five or more years in statistics, finance, process improvement, project management or related field.

Principal Financial Risk Analyst

Confirmation Management

Proactively anticipates business needs and provides data and analysis to inform business decisions; analyzes data trends and makes recommendations; identifies trends and gaps in data, metrics or processes and makes operational recommendations; develops metrics aligned to strategic objectives; serves as a the expert for deal confirmations.

Compensation Range:

$87,225.00 - $173,875.00

Actual total compensation, including a performance based incentive bonus, is commensurate with experience, skills, qualifications, education, training, and internal equity. While we anticipate the selected candidate for this position will fall towards the middle or entry point of the compensation range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis.
