What you will do

· Leads the preparation of short-term and long-term financial forecasts for the Company and its affiliates

· Coordinates and prepares financial analyses in support of corporate decision making. Responsible for ad hoc analyses for various business scenarios and strategic initiatives.

· Responsible for creating and leading a team that produces accurate and meaningful financial forecasting.

What you bring

  • A college degree in finance, accounting or related field of study and six to seven years of relevant experience. An advanced business degree or the attainment of a professional designation (e.g., CPA, CFA, etc.) may be substituted for two years of work experience. An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.

  • Advanced financial analysis skills and a firm grasp of financial accounting principles required.

  • Basic knowledge of economics and quantitative analysis.

  • Proficiency in PC spreadsheet software and related applications.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Prior supervisory experience.

Position Description

Leads the preparation of short-term and long-term financial forecasts for the Company and its affiliates; coordinates and prepares financial analyses in support of corporate decision making. Responsible for ad hoc analyses for various business scenarios and strategic initiatives. Responsible for creating and leading a team that produces accurate and meaningful financial forecasting.

Position-Related Responsibilities

  • Directs the preparation of short-term and long-term financial forecasts incorporating the Company's operating plans and business strategies. Updates financial forecasts in a timely manner to reflect new business developments and accounting information.

  • Establishes and manages forecast controls to ensure ongoing accuracy and strength of the forecast.

  • Understands all facets of the business in order to make meaningful forecast assumptions and lead the financial planning team in the creation of the forecast.

  • Possess a strong emphasis on team development and training.

  • Coordinates forecast assumptions with all planning partners including Supply-side Planning, Retail Forecasting, Corporate Budgeting, Rates and other groups as necessary.

  • Provides complex forecasts to support goodwill impairment testing by Fortis as well as expected returns on equity by company and jurisdiction.

  • Coordinates and prepares financial analyses in support of corporate decision making, including analyses of corporate investment opportunities, potential business combinations, capital management strategies, etc.

  • Acts as a key liaison to the Fortis planning and investor relations teams

  • This position may provide services to affiliates of the Company subject to the UNS Energy Code of Conduct and the related Policies and Procedures.

Management Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the Company’s management principles, policies and programs are consistently practiced and continually support the Affirmative Action Plan.

  • Assume fiduciary responsibility for operating the business and provide recommendations on cost improvement measures.

  • Ensure that the Performance Management program is administered uniformly and effectively.

  • Comply with and administer the terms and conditions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement when applicable.

  • Administers personnel functions, including recruiting, review and approval of job descriptions and salary classifications, and selection and placement of personnel. Participates in hiring, termination, promoting, assignment and direction of staff. Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state and federal laws, regulations and standards, company policies, practices and ethical obligations to investigate, evaluate and recommend appropriate resolution to employee complaints.

  • Promotes and participates in the professional development, personal growth and career planning of staff. Motivate, recognize and reward, coach, counsel, train; provide feedback to employees during performance reviews. Participates in Leadership Development programs.

  • Addresses disciplinary and/or performance issues, according to company policy, and communicates effectively with employees regarding corrective action. Has input into the adjustment of grievances and administration of discipline.

  • Plans day-to-day operations, estimates personnel needs, and schedules and assigns work. Evaluate the structure and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Pay Rate: Competitive pay based on qualifications and experience
