WSP USA Junior Mechanical Designer in Vancouver, British Columbia

WSP is currently seeking a Mechanical Designer to join our Buildings - Mechanical department, located at our Vancouver, BC office. Reporting to the Manager, Mechanical Engineering, this position will be responsible for the plumbing design of a variety of institutional, light industrial, commercial, healthcare, and recreational buildings.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Providing design, calculations, and technical support for the layout and specification of plumbing systems for building projects

  • Provide technical assistance to the design team and Project Managers

  • Work with intermediate and senior designers

  • Draft mechanical and plumbing system in Revit and AutoCAD

  • On-site mechanical investigations, audits, and reviews

  • Write technical and field investigation reports

  • Attendance at project meetings with clients

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma from a technical university/college in mechanical technology or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering

  • Experience using Revit and AutoCAD is an asset

  • Strong verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks

  • Ability to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment

Compensation

Expected Salary (all locations): $53,900 to 91,700
