WSP USA Project Coordinator in Vancouver, British Columbia

The Opportunity:

WSP Applied Solutions is seeking a Project Coordinator with experience to join our construction team. The position will include involvement with delivering technically challenging ground engineering, mining, water resource, and/or environmental remediation projects. The position will have field based work (approximately two weeks on; two weeks off. Approximately 80% of the time) and office based work. The position requires travel (flying and driving) as well as working in remote locations in Canada. The current project site is located within the Mackenzie Delta in the Northwest Territories. The project involves contaminated sites remediation.

What you can expect to do here:

  • Providing project specific support, including scheduling, project controls, cost tracking, and logistics support.

  • Providing timely updates on project controls, progress and forecasting trends to the Project Manager

  • Collecting, inputting, managing and presenting project cost tracking data

  • Creating and updating project budgets and schedules; flagging budget or schedule issues to the Project Manager.

  • Completing Daily Reports such as production tracking, materials tracking, construction reports, HSE reports, etc.

  • Creating Purchase Orders, Subcontracts, Work Orders.

  • Reviewing vendor and subcontractor invoices

  • Identifying field risks, issues, problems and working with the team to find solutions

  • Identifying the need for change orders, and assisting in preparation of change orders

  • Conducting preliminary review of pre-bills and assisting with client invoicing

  • Implementing QA/QC procedures

What you'll bring to WSP:

  • Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering/Tech, Environmental Engineering/Tech or equivalent

  • Professional Engineer or EIT preferred and ability to be licensed in other provinces

  • A valid full driver’s license

  • Between 1-5 years of construction experience

  • Experience in projects related to Mining, Environmental Remediation, Civil, Demolition and/or Infrastructure is desirable

  • Must be willing to travel 80%, and work independently and remotely when required

  • Works well with a team or independently

  • Self-starter and with a willingness to learn and experience

  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal)

Compensation

Expected Salary (all locations): $53,900 to $91,700
