This is a Production Lead position with a company in Vanderbilt, Michigan.

Summary: Effectively plans and implements work for assigned production department ensuring parts or materials and manpower are available for the department to perform the work.

  Requires knowledge, skill and ability to perform and fill in for any position in the department and can perform equipment setup.

Responsibilities: Responsible for product quality, workmanship and methods applications, meeting production schedules and general departmental operations consistent with the company's manufacturing objectives. Organizes and assign work; train and guide employees in proper methods of running jobs. Anticipate production problems, e.g. unavoidable delays, material shortages, equipment malfunctions, etc. and where feasible devise and implement procedures to offset loss of man hours and schedule interruptions. Coordinate repairs of equipment to avoid excessive downtime. Police use of safety devices, equipment, departmental housekeeping, and maintain constant alert for hazardous conditions. Maintain conformance with Company work rules and regulations.

 Provides other support to production and management as required.

 Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent education and experience.

  years experience in a preparatory position of similar work.

   Must be able to use scales and measurement instruments, and perform SPC.
