Hotel Indigo is an upper upscale boutique hotel brand with IHG, focusing on creating a uniquely local experience in each of our hotels. Do you see yourself as a Chief Engineer (Pre-opening) with Hotel Indigo Palau?

We are looking for an internationally experienced, energetic, hands-on Chief Engineer who will oversee all engineering elements within the hotel to ensure programs & budget goals, are achieved whilst also evaluating team progress and identifying new ideas that will help drive the business and solving problems through strong interpersonal skills and efficient communication.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee the hotel's engineering department, ensuring the effective operation and maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems

• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and ensure the longevity of equipment and facilities

• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers for repairs, upgrades, and installations, negotiating contracts and ensuring quality workmanship

• Conduct regular inspections of the property to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, and opportunities for improvement.

• Manage the engineering budget, tracking expenses, and forecasting future needs to optimize resource allocation

• Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards, maintaining documentation and records as required

• Respond to emergencies and service requests promptly, troubleshooting issues and implementing solutions to minimize disruptions to guests and operations

What we need from you

For you to be the ideal candidate, you should have the following:

• Min. 8 years’ of related experience in Hotel or Leisure Environment

• Technical Qualifications required

• Must have previously held a senior role within a hotel, resort or leisure facility

• Pre-opening experience preferred
