BEAT LLC 23932 Telecommunications Mechanic II (DCWF 01 in United States

The Telecommunications Mechanic II is responsible for the installation, testing, troubleshooting, programming, maintenance, and repair of digital switching equipment, attendant consoles, power and ringing relay racks, and other telecommunications and data circuits in a central switching office. The role involves analyzing system failures to determine whether issues are caused by software, hardware, or other factors. This position also requires maintaining both manual and computerized records for central office operations, including cable, line, and subscriber service records, as well as managing spare parts inventories.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, test, troubleshoot, and maintain digital switching equipment, power and ringing relay racks, and related telecommunications systems.

  • Repair and program telecommunications and data circuits, including fire alarms and intrusion alarms.

  • Analyze system failures to isolate and resolve issues related to software, hardware, or other causes.

  • Maintain central office records, including detailed traffic analysis, cable, line, and subscriber service records, and spare parts inventories.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of six (6) years of experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing OSP cable systems, including copper, coaxial, and fiber optic cabling.

  • BICSI Technician Certification.

  • Training in OSHA Confined Space, Basic Bucket Truck Operations, Ladder Safety, Aerial and Scissor Lift Safety, and GPS.

  • Cable Locator and Ground Penetrating Radar training.

This role requires a strong background in telecommunications systems and central office operations, with an emphasis on both technical expertise and detailed record-keeping.
