Job Summary

The Educator Preparation Program (EPP) Director will answer directly to the Dean of the College of Education and Human Performance. The director provides support and works closely with the Dean, department chairs, faculty, and program coordinators to make essential connections with school districts, community colleges, and all educator stakeholders that will serve as pipelines for recruitment and enrollment as well as collaborative engagements between the CEHP and those organizations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Redesign of the Educator Preparation Program (EPP) to implement best practices resulting in a stronger accreditation rating and student success.

  • Oversee the EPP program development and meet all state requirements.

  • Review, monitor, and address: course sequencing, curriculum mapping, and instructional alignment to content standards for each state-tested area.

  • Work together with the certification office and the EPP staff to provide students with a seamless journey from entry into the program through graduation with an educator certificate.

  • Implement MOUs involving student placements, and student supervision (teachers, counselors, principals, and superintendents).

  • Meet quarterly with all faculty providing coursework for students within the program.

  • Engage in relationship-building with all stakeholders.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

Minimum RequirementsEducation- Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience- Ten years of related experience in management.Knowledge of - Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.Ability to- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to ensure understanding.
