Job Description

The Research Specialist I, under general supervision performs semi-skilled, technical support research work involving performance of assignments requiring modification and adaptation to routine procedures. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on the successful completion of tasks assigned.Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor`s degree in science or related field.

4 years of experience in technical position/ Laboratory bench work.

Preferred Experience:

1 year experience in chromatography methods.

Previous experience in HPLC/Spectroscopy/Filtration/Photometry.

Previous experience in sample handling.

Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Attention to detailsAbility to follow a protocolMS office suites and LIMS

Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Job Responsibilities

40% - Perform analysis and data processing. Record sample processed.

25% - Compile and review data and create a report for the client.

10% - Directly communicate with scientists about their amino acid analysis needs.

10% - Prepare buffer solutions/ other chemicals according to the protocol.

5% - Perform routine maintenance work on equipment as needed.

5% - Order chemicals and consumables.

5% - Perform other duties as assigned.
