GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The State of Wyoming is looking for a skilled Senior HVAC Technician to join our team and maintain the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in multiple government buildings. This critical role will allow you to work on a variety of HVAC systems, troubleshoot issues, and directly contribute to the efficiency and comfort of state facilities across Wyoming.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed at the job level.

  • Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment.

  • Install and replace HVAC units, ducts, and related components.

  • Troubleshoot HVAC systems and ensure they operate efficiently and effectively.

  • Document service and maintenance work.

  • Work in a collaborative environment where team members support each other in delivering high-quality results.

Qualifications

PREFERENCES:

Preference will be given to those applicants with HVAC Journeyman or equivalent technician license, or an EPA license.

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Knowledge of refrigeration cycle, refrigerants, air conditioning, and related air handling equipment.

  • Knowledge of acceptable practices, methods, and tools used in installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC-R Equipment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Bachelor's Degree

Experience:

0-1 year of progressive work experience (typically in HVAC) with acquired knowledge at the level of an HVAC Specialist

OR

Education & Experience Substitution:

3-4 years of progressive work experience (typically in HVAC) with acquired knowledge at the level of an HVAC Specialist

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Agency may require an EPA License.

Necessary Special Requirements

PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.

  • Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions

  • Ability to work in tight, confined spaces

  • Ability to work comfortably at a variety of heights

  • Ability to walk great distances throughout the facility

NOTES:

  • FLSA: Non-Exempt, hourly

  • Employment is subject to the successful applicant passing a background check
