What you will do:

The Professional Affairs Senior Specialist will provide oversight and expertise in processing, managing, and executing consulting agreements, grants, donations, exhibits and sponsorship requests for the business unit. This team member will be responsible for collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders to process these agreements and requests. In this role, you will ensure Stryker SOP compliance with all contractual healthcare professional (HCP) consultants and with all field-based educational events and training. The role is to support the day-to-day functions of the Emergency Care business. It involves frequent contact with customers and their staff, business personnel and leadership for purposes of collecting information, creating/maintaining files, drafting documents, and confirming payments, while assuring our policy and business practice compliance.

You will

  • Perform due diligence on HCP (healthcare professional) nominations and conduct FMV (fair market value) analyses.

  • Coordinate and oversee the annual Needs Assessment for the Emergency Care business.

  • Generate new contract paperwork and contracts; initiate documentation for renewals as needed; circulate all contracts for signatures.

  • Work with Compliance and Legal departments to resolve contractual and compliance issues regarding HCP agreements, payments, and standard operating procedure (SOP) requirements.

  • Analyze/compare current SOPs and other business practices with current state and handle the processing, documentation, and review of consultant payments to ensure they are compliant with policies and procedures and that we meet our contractual obligations.

  • Process HCP payments, including correspondence with the HCP in a professional and timely manner

  • Maintain relationships with the Medical Education team and Emergency Care Leadership to provide information and insights on HCP Consultant activity.

  • Manage all databases related to HCP Consultant interactions and ensure output meets required expectations.

  • Act as a liaison between Professional Affairs and other departments, responding to routine questions and, where necessary, seeking feedback from additional resources needed to respond to questions

  • Prepare legal documents, including contracts and related correspondence, and coordinate feedback as needed.

  • Assess the HCP Consultant contract process for roadblocks and communicate with leadership recommendations for improvement and more time-efficient changes.

  • Liaise with Compliance and Legal to resolve all issues related to HCP contracts, payments, and related educational activities and ensure all departmental activities align with current regulatory requirements

  • Manage Global Request Technology GRT systems and processes, serve as an internal expert for all questions regarding submitting and processing all requests.

  • Coordinate, schedule, and set an agenda for Grants & Donations meetings for members. Create and maintain a database reflecting submission packets with all required documentation.

  • Assist with transparency and reporting teams to upload information.

  • Provide regular training and communications on how to navigate and work with the Professional Affairs processes and systems.

  • Ownership of quarterly needs assessment and consultant review meetings

  • Collaborate with other divisional and regional professional affairs specialists to align on contracts and payments for cross-divisional/cross-regional consultants while establishing a consistent process and workflow

  • Identify and drive opportunities for operational efficiencies and process improvements

  • Analyze processes and data to identify trends and gaps and make recommendations to leadership where opportunities for efficiencies may reside

  • Work independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional and cross-divisional, team-oriented environment

  • Sense of urgency, responsiveness, and professionalism during the day-to-day operations and flexibility to multi-task when necessary

  • Flexibility to respond to business needs and inquiries outside business hours

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office and database skills, including experience with internal databases

  • Participate in cross-divisional committee meetings.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What you need:

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • 2+ years of work experience required

  • Knowledge of AdvaMed, Anti-Kickback, Sunshine, and other federal guidelines related to the healthcare industry or any federally regulated environment preferred

  • Knowledge of Consultant Activity planning Systems CAPS and Global Request Technology is preferred.

  • Experience Managing Healthcare Professional HCP contracts is highly desirable.

$58,700 - $118,600 salary plus bonus eligible + benefits. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
