Description of Work

Salary Grade NC12 Salary Range $45,926 - $80,369

This is a technical and administrative position that independently performs decisions and tasks required in the processing of documentation and information necessary for the creation and maintenance of Equipment Master data, in the SAP system. The Equipment Master Data section maintains all records of over 27,000 pieces of NCDOT equipment throughout the State. Due to statewide financial impacts within NCDOT, DPI, and SHP the position requires an in-depth knowledge of master data requirements along with accuracy and attention to detail when creating and maintaining the master data records. This position processes material requests and supports NCDOT, State Highway Patrol, Ferry Division, Rail Division, NC State Port Authority, Department of Public Instructions and various county public school systems. The employee must use established NCDOT policies, procedures and guidelines for establishing or modifying master data records. This position works with Fuel Master system on maintenance and creation of fuel canopies, fuel dispensers, fuel monitoring systems, fuel tanks, and fueling platform/equipment. Serves as a point of contact for the utilization of other software programs that interface with SAP.

The program area for this position includes one or more of the following: working knowledge of the SAP system, working knowledge of equipment inventory processes, working knowledge of material request processes, and/or experience using the Fuel Master system.

  • Knowledge of State-owned equipment and associated functions and materials inventoried.

  • Demonstrated ability to direct and train end users in mechanisms of data flow and facilitate input for creation of a master data file.

  • Demonstrated ability to exercise judgment and discretion in establishing, applying, and interpreting policies and procedures.

  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with agency personnel, officials, and the public.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two (2) years of experience related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
