Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Steel Connecticut is seeking a leader for the position of Environmental, Health & Safety(EHS) Supervisor. The role of the EHS Supervisor is to participate as a member of Nucor Connecticuts leadership team in executing Nucors Mission with regard to the promotion of safe, professional work practices and conditions that are in compliance with EHS policies and regulations. This includes direct responsibility for leading our EHS functions across the plant, leading and developing the EHS operational and support team for both short term and long-term goals, operating with autonomy to make decisions for the department, have the opportunity to get involved in many facets of the business, and reporting to the management team weekly. This position will report directly to the General Manager. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience in Environmental Engineering and Compliance

  • Bachelors Degree in Environmental Engineering, related discipline, or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in environmental and/or safety management technical degree in a related field

  • Demonstrated mastery of the following:

  • EPA Regulatory Compliance including permitting and auditing

  • OSHA Regulatory Compliance including standards and reporting

  • Knowledge of ISO 14001

  • Environmental, Health and Safety Management Systems

  • Leadership experience with small teams.

Compensation Data:

Salary Range: $90,000 - $115,000 (base) depending on experiencePosition is eligible for up to 30% ROA & Profit Share bonus
